McKinney Robotics Team Advances to World Championships

The McKinney Noon Lions are proud supporters of the McKinney Mercenary Robotics Team.  The team racked up 2 awards in the inaugural Brazos Valley Regional For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition (FRC) held at University High School in Waco, Texas March 31 – April 2.  The Brazos Valley Regional competition featured teams from four states. Building on the lessons learned in their first competition at the Dallas Regional in March, the team was able to improve their performance. The rookie team placed 15th among the 41 teams that competed.

Mercenary Robotics won the Highest Rookie Seed Award as well as the Rookie All Star Award. The Rookie All Star Award automatically qualifies the team to compete in the FIRST Championship which will be held in Houston, Texas April 19-22.

To help with competition expenses, the team has created a GoFundMe page and welcomes any support from the community.  The Robotics Team covers their own expenses, so all donations are appreciated.  You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
