MCKINNEY LIONS
STUDENTS IN SERVICE AWARD- 2023-2024
The motto of the McKinney Noon Lion’s Club is “We Serve”. The McKinney Noon Lion’s Club has established a new cash award for students in McKinney. With service at the forefront of the work of the McKinney Lion’s Club, the Students in Service Award will recognize students in McKinney ISD and local charter schools who have contributed time and considerable effort to true service activities throughout the year. The McKinney Lions will recognize up to 4 qualified students with a $1000 cash award (each), as well as a certificate of merit. Students enrolled in grades 9-12 may apply. Students from all three McKinney High Schools, Serenity High School and the International Charter School are eligible to participate.
The Students in Service Award may be used for any purpose that the student feels is a need. Examples: Community College tuition; transportation for post-secondary employment; post-secondary living expenses; travel for service projects, mission trips, etc.
Awards may be given to individuals at different campuses, all 4 awards may go to students attending the same campus. Students will be recognized at the school board meeting in the spring and at a regular Lion’s Club meeting in the spring.
